A Good Week

October 9th, 2009

This week was a good week. I got help from my friends and co-workers Jared and Gina. We got 15 walls all painted. Then Mary and her hubby Rick came over and we got a lot done on the dot room walls. Thanks everyone! Hopefull the weather will cooperate next week and we can get the beginning stages of the haunt built.

Quick update

September 22nd, 2009

Last Friday I went to visit Leo, a nice gentleman who answered my Craigslist add for plywood. He runs a company that collects pallets and crates and he gave me 14 plywood sheets with 4×4s on them. All I need to do is paint them! I also made about 30 bottles for my voodoo lady room, I think that room is gonna rock!

Worked on stuff today

September 4th, 2009

Got some stuff done today. Got 2 truck loads of pallets early this morning. Also worked on my guillotine. I now have 30 or so pallets to build my waiting room, FCG crypt and maybe one more room (witches room?) and maybe a few walls. I need to get more pallets!

Update on donations

August 29th, 2009

Well, I went to see Eathan in the morning. I got the plywood from him, as well as 3 gallons of paint, gray and forest green. A few other odds and ends, but the best thing was a very large antique chest! Real sweet!!

Then in the evening, I went to Aurora to see Jay. I got the 2 barrels (very sweet) and a bag of bucky bones and a skeleton he had cast. Best of all, he’s making me a trash can trauma and a casket popper as well! He is very generous and a very nice guy!

Thanks, to both of you!!

Got good news today!!

August 24th, 2009

Last week, I posted an ad on Craigslist saying I was looking for some material for the haunt; things like plywood, 55 gallon drums, tarp, etc… Well, today, I talk to a gentleman named Eathan who owns a construction company, and he said he could donate 75 sheets of plywood, among other things! Wow! Another guy, Jay said he’d give me a few 55 gallon drums, but best of all, he’s a prop-maker who will make one of the barrels into a barrel pop! He also had other props for me too!! Sweet!!!

Hello all

August 23rd, 2009

Let me introduce myself. My name is Jim O’Dell, and I have been a fan of Halloween ever since I can remember. My most vivid memory as a child was getting dressed up in costume and walking the streets in North Branford, Connecticut with all my friends. My next door neighbor had all of these wonderful decorations in his front yard; witches on a see-saw, floating ghosts. and a talking treasure chest. Way cool for the 70s!

I have decorated my house for many years and have done a haunted house in my garage as well. This year’s haunt will be the biggest ever, over 1600 sq. feet of scares!
